I instructed Solicitors to act for me in my application to extend a lease on a property I owned in Wimbledon.
The solicitor who acted for me said the first thing I needed to do was appoint a Surveyor, I asked her to recommend one and she replied by saying I could obtain details of surveyors from the Leasehold Advisory Service but she could tell me of one she had many dealings with and she had found him to be very knowledgeable and cost effective.
I contacted Home Reports Limited and they told me exactly how much it would cost for the valuation and the subsequent negotiations with the freeholders surveyor.
The freeholder’s surveyor put a price of £36,000 on the cost of my lease extension, that came down to £31,000 a price which I was seriously considering excepting but Home Reports told me to wait as they were confident of getting the figure down. I paid £26,550 for my lease extension. I recommended Home Reports to three other leaseholders in the block who like me had short leases. I found Home Reports to be extremely Knowledgeable, professional and cost effective and would highly recommend them to others.
